A burglar got a nasty surprise when he broke into a North Seattle home yesterday afternoon.
According to an SPD source, the burglar—apparently a man in his 20s—entered a home on 30th NE and NE 120th around 1:00 pm, and found that the homeowner and his son were inside.
As soon as the burglar realized someone was home, he took off running.
However, police tell us the homeowner pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the ground in an attempt to get the burglar to stay at the scene.
It apparently worked. The burglar froze in his tracks, and the homeowner and his son tackled the burglar and held him until police arrived and arrested the suspect.
We're working to get more details about the incident and we'll update later today if we do.
