Don't you hate it when your neighbor tries to stab you, and you're forced to dig out your katana to defend yourself?
One man had to do just that after he got into a dispute with a neighbor at his apartment building at 8th and Madison last week.
Around 7:00pm on January 18th, a police report says the suspect came into the victim's apartment and demanded that the victim return a copy of a movie he had borrowed.
The two men got into an argument, which turned physical when suspect punched the victim.
Both men fell to the floor, and the suspect told the victim, "I'm going to come back and kill you. I'm going to get a gun and kill you."
The victim later told police the suspect had made similar threats before and "nothing came of it.'
Twenty minutes later, the suspect came back to the victim's apartment and knocked on his door.
As the victim was opening the door, the suspect thrust an 8" carving knife through the doorway.
The victim stepped back and tried to close the door, and then ran to his bedroom and grabbed "a Samurai sword."
The suspect fled, and the victim called police.
Officers arrested the suspect and recovered a large kitchen knife from his apartment.
