Dorsol Plants Won't Run for Council

By Erica C. Barnett January 13, 2011

Dorsol Plants, an Iraq vet who ran in 2009 for the city council seat eventually won by Sally Bagshaw, announced today that he is dropping out of the 2011 city council race. Citing the death of his grandfather last year, Plants said in a statement, "I will be unable to both uphold my obligations to my family and conduct a campaign worthy of my supporters and the citizens of Seattle."

As I first reported yesterday morning, 34th District Democratic Party activist Michael Taylor-Judd plans to run for council this year, although he has not yet chosen which incumbent to oppose.
