A dispute between two SODO hot dog vendors* culminated with one suspect allegedly throwing a propane tank through the rear windshield of the victim's car. The flammable-gas-container attack occurred just before 2:45 a.m. November 1 near 1st Ave S and S Hanford St, according to the police report.

The victims (there were two people in the car at the time), stopped their vehicle in the middle of 1st Ave S when two suspects said something to them. The suspects approached the vehicle, and one of them reached into the vehicle's open window, saying, "I'm going to rob you." The other suspect then threw a propane tank at the back window of the car, then again at the car's driver's side.

The driver of the vehicle pepper sprayed the suspects, who were found by police and arrested not far from the site of the attack.
