Seattle police are investigating a frightening incident near the University of Washington campus after a woman was maced and beaten by a man in an apparently random attack on October 7th.

Around 3:45pm, the woman was walking along 15th NE and NE 45th when a man jumped out of an alley, sprayed mace in the woman's eyes, and hit her on the head with a stick.

The suspect did not say anything to the woman during the attack.

Police arrived at the scene following the incident and found the woman, who had blood coming from a wound on her head.

A witness told police the suspect hit the woman in the head six times with a stick—pr possibly an asp—and ran off eastbound.

Police weren't able to locate the suspect.
