A man called police from 31st and S Morgan St on October 18th, and said he'd just been robbed by a man who had contacted him through Craigslist
The man met the suspect around 6:00 to sell him a phone to for $750, according to a police report.
When the victim showed the suspect the phone, the suspect—described as a "black male with a heavy build, 18 - 20 years old, 6 feet tall, wearing a black puffy jacket, black T-shirt and gray sweatpants—grabbed it out of his hand and took a swing at him.
The victim ducked the punch, but the suspect ran south on 30th Ave with the victim's phone.
Officers realized they had actually seen the suspect on the street several minutes before the robbery, and apparently are familiar with him.
Officers went looking for the suspect at his home and a nearby community center, but were unable to find him.
Pro tip: If you're going to sell something to someone on Craigslist, try to meet them in front of a police precinct or in a crowded pace with cameras, like a mall. Selling stuff to people on Craigslist already sucks enough when you don't get robbed. Might as well do everything you can not to make it worse.
