Shots Fired In Ballard

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee October 4, 2010

Police are on the lookout for a gray Mazda protege following a shooting in Ballard just after midnight.

Medics were dispatched to 24th Av Nw and Nw 77th St following reports of gunfire, but a number of the units were quickly called off.

A witness told police at least three shots were fired. One bullet struck a vehicle, but it's unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.

Police say the Mazda has visible red suspension, tinted windows, and modified exhaust. The car also did not have any plates. The suspects were described as two white males wearing hoodies.

Shortly after the incident, police dispatchers made an over-the-air call out for gang unit detectives.

Update: Seattlecrime tipper Silver says there may have been some sort of car accident prior to the shooting.

Update x2: Police also just got a call about shots fired in the U-district at 45th and 18th NE.
