SFD Says Madrona House Fire Was Arson
Investigators have determined that a big 'ol fire at a home in Madrona was intentionally on Monday.

Firefighters responded to 911 calls reporting smoke in the area of 32
nd Avenue East and East Denny
Way just after 11 a.m. today. Units investigating arrived to find smoke coming from the basement of a house in the 1700 block of 33rd Avenue. Firefighters on the scene called for additional units and attacked the fire, which extended from the basement to the first floor of the home. Firefighters searched the home and found that there was nobody inside. There were no injuries. Two adjacent homes suffered some minor fire damage.Fire Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set. Seattle Police Department’s Arson Bomb Unit is working with Fire Investigators and will handle the criminal investigation. Fire damage is estimated at $300,000.
