For the first time ever, we're watching a press conference held by Mayor Mike McGinn online rather than in person (the city press corps has started grumbling recently about McGinn's excessive availability) on the city's redesigned web site.

An early loser from today's announcement: The Seattle City Council, whose own web site has not been updated---at all---as part of the city's new web site rollout, which city IT director Bill Schrier said cost $5,000.
