More Details On Shooting At MLK and Graham

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee October 26, 2010

A police report released this week gives a few more details on a shooting in broad daylight at a busy intersection in South Seattle.

Just before 5:00pm on October 19th, police received reports of gunfire at Martin Luther King Jr Way S and S Graham St.

Witnesses told police a 17-year-old boy had walked out into the middle of Graham street and fired five shots at a red Cadillac. He then fled eastbound on Graham.

The victim also drove off southbound.

Police found broken glass at the scene, but no shell casings or victims.

Officers let all hospitals in the area know to be on the lookout for any incoming gunshot victims.

About three hours after the shooting, gang unit detectives spotted the 17-year-old suspect in the 48th Ave S and S Kenyon St.

After a brief foot chase, police found the teen hiding in a shed in the backyard of a home. Officers also recovered a revolver nearby.

The 17-year-old was booked into the Youth Service Center. (!)

We haven't heard anything about police locating a victim in the shooting, but we'll check around this afternoon and see if we can find out a bit more about this incident.
