The Morning Blotter: Man Pulls Knife, Threatens to Kill Woman At SoDo Bus Stop
Just after midnight on September 25th, police were called to 1st Ave S and S Massachussets in SoDo after a man pulled a knife on a woman at a bus shelter, held it to her throat, and threatened to kill her.
The woman was standing at the bus stop when the suspect got into an argument with another man, a police report says. The suspect reportedly walked over to the man he was arguing with, pulled out a knife from his pocket and said "You are so lucky I didn't stab you with this".
When the victim tried to break up the dispute, the suspect turned to her, put the knife to her throat, and told her "Bitch, I'm gonna fucking murder you and then I'll murder your friend."
It's unclear from the report whether the victim knew the man the suspect had argued with.
The suspect—described as a white man with a thin build and dirty blonde hair, wearing a green hat—fled the scene, but was stopped by police at Occidental and Holgate.
Police found two knives on the man—a blue pocketknife and a silver blade with a black handle and circular marking, which, according to witnesses, was the knife used in the attack.
When officers interviewed the suspect, he claimed he never pulled a knife on the victim. Nevertheless, police booked him into the King County Jail.
