On Other Blogs Today: The PI Endorses the High-Earners' Income Tax

By Bryce McKay September 7, 2010

1. Schmudget (Josh in the background: "That's yiddish for budget!") has a fantastic analysis
of our state's priorities and the way we fund them, including the cost of budget cuts from this biennium.

Great reading for anyone wondering about the ballot initiatives this year and how they'll impact state spending.

2. Seattle Transit Blog points out that architects will present their respective visions for the new waterfront
after the viaduct comes down. If you're interested, hit the meeting on September 15th at Benaroya Hall at 7:00 P.M.

3.
The P-I.com's newly-constituted editorial board says you should approve I-1098, the high-earners income tax. (No mention, though, of a red flag we raised
about the initiative—the possibility that small businesses might get zapped by the tax.)

4.
The liberal editorial board seems to have taken over the PI's  newsroom today as well. Their newsblog has a piece on U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert's hypocrisy (which, we must say, was easy to confuse with Suzan DelBene's press release on Dave Reichert's hypocrisy).

In all fairness to the PI: The evidence is pretty damning. On the campaign trail Reichert has condemned President Obama's stimulus bill as a spendy flop (he voted against it), but the DelBene campaing has unearthed a letter Rep. Reichert wrote in late 2009 asking the Department of Labor to direct stimulus money to a program in his Distirct.
