1. The Seattle Times' Politics Northwest has a new Elway poll: U.S. Senator Patty Murray is ahead of Republican challenger Dino Rossi by nine points. This is a huge shift from the most  recent polls that had Dino Rossi out in front.

2. Joel Connelly at the P-I's Strange Bedfellows blog covers last night's debate between Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA 2) and his Tea Party challenger John Koster in Lake Stevens.

Connelly's translation:

"Koster is playing one note: He wants less government."

"Larsen has his own theme: National clout carries local benefit. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Larsen argued Monday, he is best positioned to fight for the Air Force contract. It would mean '9,000 jobs in Snohomish County.'"

3. The conservative Washington Policy Center's policy blog is throwing down against state legislators for campaigning while the Governor is forced to make across-the-board cuts in order to deal with the state's budget shortfall.
