City Council Issues Backhand to McGinn: The P-I
reports on the City Council's vote to bring the matter of $7 million to the full council re: the Museum of History and Industry controversy. The money had originally been promised to MOHAI, but McGinn wants to use it to patch a hole in the city's budget. The council seems to be saying, "not so much."

See especially quotes from Council Members in the story, like this one from Tom Rasmussen:
He said McGinn shouldn't threaten to take money from one project and allocate it elsewhere, and that the mayor's stance on the city's deep-bore tunnel project mirrored his dealings with MOHAI.

"To me, this is strike two," Rasmussen said. "This is not a strategy that's going to work with me."

Republican Bloodbath:  Ali v. Frazier. Cougars v. Huskies. Yankees v. Anyone. And now... Pam Roach v. Matt Richardson. These two Republicans are having what could be the state's most ridiculous, drama-riddled, back-and-forth legal and electoral battle this cycle.

Each candidate has filed complaints with the Public Disclosure Commission. Both are Republicans. Only one can win. Jordan Schraeder has a rundown of the legal challenges each candidate has thrown down.

Budget Woes: Josh has the nuts-and-bolts on today's budget forecast, but schmudget (yiddish... yeah...) has some lefty analysis here

The Republicans Strike Back
: Rossi has a new ad slamming Sen. Patty Murray, saying that she "can't admit what [she's] doing isn't working," and calling her "Part of the Problem." Coverage at the Seattle Times.
