Jolt
Afternoon Jolt: Business Establishment + McGinn
Today's winner: Mayor Mike McGinn.
McGinn rolled out his "E-Park" program this morning with a backdrop of downtown business folks, including several parking-lot owners and Kate Joncas, head of the powerful Downtown Seattle Association. (The new system tells drivers how many spaces are available in private downtown parking lots).
The downtown business establishment has been skeptical of McGinn---particularly his opposition to the waterfront deep-bore tunnel, which the DSA supports. Their visible presence at today's press conference marked a big win for the mayor, who badly needs establishment allies.
Today's Loser: The Media
Florida pastor Terry Jones cancels his Koran buring bonanza.
