Today's Loser is the anti-high-earners' income tax campaign

Their opponents in the pro I-1098 camp have a new TV ad that'll be running statewide for at least the next week (an ad buy in the hundreds of thousands of dollars)—and it's a good one.

It's the work of Philadelphia firm Shorr Johnson and Magnus (which did work for Obama in the '08 election) and local ad-stars Laguens Kully and Klose.

Today's Winner is State Rep. Ross Hunter (D-48) ...

And only because we happened to check in on his fundraising today. While most of the Democrats on the Eastside Seattle suburbs may be on shaky ground this year, Hunter is way ahead of his (supposedly) high-profile GOP challenger, former Republican state party chair, Diane Tebelius.

Hunter is ahead of Tebelius by $30,000 in cash on hand ($65,000 to $35,000). Maybe because she's spent a lot more on a big campaign? Nope. He's beating her there too. Hunter has spent $70,000 and Tebelius has spent $60,000.

And Hunter is the Democratic house Finance Chair (the budget guy). He's supposed to be Exhibit A in the GOP case.

We interviewed the both candidates in this bellwether race on video back in June.
