The Morning Blotter: Man Beaten By New Drinking Buddies In Beacon Hill Park

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee August 17, 2010

Last week, police say one man was beaten and robbed by a group of men he'd just met over beers earlier that evening.

At about 2:45am on August 13th, police received a call from the victim, and met the man on Beacon Hill.

The victim told officers he had met a group of four men at a bar earlier that night and been drinking with them until the bar closed. After leaving the bar, a police report says the men drove to a park near 12th Ave S and S Winthrop (if anyone knows what park this might be, please let us know!) where the group of men turned on the victim.

The men attacked the victim and stole his wallet—"which contained no cash," the report says—and his cell phone, and drove off in an older grey or silver SUV or pickup truck.

The victim sustained "several impacts to the head" and was treated by medics at the scene.
