The Morning Blotter: Kids Busted For Shooting Out Neighbors Windows With BBs on Queen Anne

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee August 11, 2010

A woman was sitting in her home on August 7th was startled by the sound of "five or six impacts" against a window in the home, and "realized that someone was shooting something at her," according to a police report.

The woman called police to her home in the 500 block of W Prospect St, and told officers she had seen several boys in a nearby home with a pistol.

Police found an "impact break" on the window, and determined that someone had fired a BB or pellet gun at the window.

Officers went to the neighbor boys' home—the police report says officers were familiar with the boys because of "previous aberrant behavior"—and contacted one the boys' parents, who told officers they had no idea about the BB shooting.

The parent went to get the boys, and returned with the two kids, as well as a Daisy "Glock-shaped" pellet gun.

The boys admitted to shooting out their neighbor's window, and their father offered to pay for the damage.

Police took the BB gun into evidence, and released the boys to their parents.
