Smoking Is a Gateway Crime and Another Tale of Woe (Involving the Library)
*OK, so smoking isn't really a crime...yet (please don't sue, Phillip Morris!)
Related date/time: Aug-03-2010 2254 On 08/03/2010 at 2138 hours I was working uniform patrol as 3F2 when I was dispatched to 86 24 Ave SW to investigate the report of an assault. When I arrived I spoke with the victim in front of the above residence. stated that at approximately 1400 hours he exited XXXXXX located in the 9400 block of 16 Ave SW and was approached by three unknown males. One of the males asked for a cigarette. [The victim] told him he didn't have any and was immediately punched in the face knocking him to the ground. [The victim] was held on the ground while all three males searched his pockets. A twenty-dollar bill was stolen from front pants pocket. The males were all described as black males, approximately 5'9, slim build and 25 years old.

On 08/03/10 at approximately 1945 hours officers were dispatched to 16 AV S and S Forest to investigate an assault. Upon arrival officers contacted Victim. Victim stated the following: The victim was walking eastbound on 16 AV S approaching the Seattle Public Library. The unknown suspect was walking towards the victim and suddenly struck the victim with an unknown object. The victim was unsure if he lost consciousness or not. He suffered a cut to the back of the head and a possible broken nose. The suspect was described as a black male approximately 30YOA, wearing a tan or yellow shirt. The suspect was last seen northbound on 16 AV S on foot. An area search was conducted and the suspect was not located. Victim declined SFD #13's recommendation to go to the hospital. Victim stated that this was not a strong arm robbery as nothing was taken from him. After SFD left the scene, the victim then requested for a transport to the hospital.
