Man Tries to Kill Himself In Seattle Times Lobby

Seattle police and medics were called to the Seattle Times building early this morning after a man tried to kill himself in the Times" lobby.

Police tell us the man, who is in his 50s, entered the Seattle Times' lobby on Fairview and John around 4:30am and demanded to see a reporter.




When the security guard told the man to leave and called the police, the man tried to hang himself using a window blind cord.

The man survived, and was taken to Harborview.

Police say the man is not an employee. It's not yet clear how he got into the secure building in the middle of the night.
