Inmate Found Dead At King County Jail
An inmate at the King County Jail was found dead in his cell during a routine security check early Monday, according to officials.
Staff found the inmate, a 35-year-old male, at 1:35 a.m. and called for medical assistance. The inmate was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later. The county Medical Examiner's Office hadn't yet released his name or the cause of death.
"It doesn't appear to be foul play," said William Hayes, a spokesman for the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. "He was in a cell by himself."
