Extra Jolt: It Looks Like We Have Another Political Winner
Another winner.
We have to see what exactly what he says, but Mayor Mike McGinn is holding a press conference tomorrow to announce a jobs plan.
On the list of who's on board: David Rolf, the head of the powerful Service Employees International Union 775. This is a big deal as McGinn keeps trying to expand his coalition.
You may remember that McGinn didn't wow the unions during last year's election. He picked up a couple of union endorsements while his opponent Joe Mallahan scored the whoppers such as the King County Labor Council and the AFL-CIO.
McGinn was also poorly received at a downtown labor rally earlier this year .
The issue, obviously, is McGinn's antagonistic stance on the tunnel.
Rolf's SEIU 775 did not endorse in last year's election. Potentially having SEIU in his corner, along with social justice lefties now, as opposed to just his core PCC Natural Markets base, is a neccessary score for McGinn.
