Men Killed In Sammamish Shootout Identified
Relatives of a South Seattle man who was killed Saturday during a gunbattle at Lake Sammamish State Park say that the 30-year-old man was a loving brother and uncle who was fiercely loyal to his friends and family.
A source close to the investigation said the man, identified by his family as Justin Cunningham, is believed to be the man who fatally shot a 33-year-old Kent man during an clash between two groups at the park. The Kent man was identified by his stepsister as Yang Keovongphet.
Someone who was with Keovongphet is then believed to have fatally shot Cunningham, the source said.
The King County Medical Examiner's Office performed autopsies on the two men on Monday morning. An investigator with the office said that both Cunningham and Keovongphet died of multiple gunshot wounds. Both deaths were ruled homicides.
