Man Tries to Buy Pot, Gets Robbed Downtown

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee July 22, 2010

If we've taught you anything here at Seattlecrime.com, it's that you should always know your dealer.

According to a police report, at around 4:30pm on July 17th, a man was walking around near....wait for it...3rd and Pike when three or four men approached him and asked "what's up?," apparently offering to sell the man drugs.

When the man agreed to buy $80 worth of weed, the report says the suspects "stated that area wasn't a good place to make a narcotics transaction" and told the victim to follow them to a "safe area to make the deal."

Can you guess what happened next?

The group took the man under an off-ramp at 2nd and Seneca and, duh, attacked him.

One of the suspects punched the man in the jaw, knocking him to the ground.

One of the men in the group then grabbed the victim's wallet and took out $200 before the group fled.

Police weren't able to find the suspects.
