Murder Trial Melee At King County Courthouse

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee July 2, 2010

As many as 30 members of two families were involved in a melee at the King County Courthouse during a sentencing hearing in a murder case this afternoon, sources tell Seattlecrime.com.

Sources say the brawl broke out between family members of Louis Parker—recently convicted of fatally shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend Markaisha Monroe in the head at a Skyway home last August—and Monroe's family shortly before 4:30pm.

Police had the incident contained by 4:45pm.
