KING 5 Poll: Voters Agree with McGinn on Cost Overrun Issue
According to a KING-5 poll, 63 percent of Seattle voters agree with Mayor McGinn's position that Seattle should not be on the hook for cost overruns on the deep bore tunnel along the waterfront.
There isn't a single age group that doesn't agree with the mayor. The biggest group of supporters are young voters. 73 percent of 18-34 year olds agree with McGinn on the issue. Older voters—65 +—are the next bloc of big supporters, showing 62 percent support.
Other finds:
47 percent support the tunnel while 46 percent oppose it.
48 percent are "very" concerned about the price tag.
Also, 58 percent of voters think there should be a public referendum on the tunnel before giving it the green light.
