Where Cops Fear to Tread
How do you keep cops out of your home? Live in squalor.
On June 14th, a man contacted officers on Broadway and said he'd been attacked and robbed at a home he'd been squatting in on E Republican and Belmont.
The victim told police he had recently come into some money—about $200—and was attacked by two men who were also staying at the hazard house.
The suspects confronted the man outside the house, put him in a choke hold, and robbed him. The man wasn't immediately able call police because he does not have a phone.
It appears police didn't go to the house to look for the suspects because "this location has significant biohazard and is unsecured by the property owner. Officers will not enter the premise."
Officers wrote the victim a trespass warning and told him not to return to the house.
