1. Over at the Seattle Times
' Politics Northwest blog—in addition to picking up our Costco scoop—they've got a story today on a spat between Governor Gregoire and Mayor Mike McGinn about the infamous clause in state legislation that shoulders Seattle with any tunnel cost overruns.

At a Program Oversight Committee meeting this morning, Gregoire, ever the barrister, ended the conversation by telling McGinn, "If you want it changed in law, you need to take that to the Legislature in January. You take that to the Legislature, get it passed, I'll sign it." Pow!

Joel Connelly posted a good read on SeattlePI.com's Strange Bedfellows about the surprising magnitude of support from both sides of the aisle for Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA, 2) at Larsen's campaign kickoff last night.

Connelly reports:
"More than 300 people showed up as the 2nd District congressman kicked off his re-election campaign - a crowd that mixed labor activists, greens, local officials, and two past seekers, one Democrat, one Republican, of the seat that Larsen holds."

The fat support was surprising to Connelly because, as he also reports, Larsen been harshed on by both the Tea Party right and the left, who claim he's "in bed with the war machine."
