Man Sues Police Claiming Excessive Force In 2007 Incident
From KOMO:
According to court documents, [Dewoyne] Lowe was at Dick's Hamburgers in the city's Queen Anne neighborhood when he got into a fight with a security guard. The guard had told Lowe the eatery was closed, even though other people were still apparently being served.
When the guard tried to push Lowe, he brushed his arm away and turned to leave, said his attorney,
John Kannin.
As Lowe began walking away, Depina cut him off with his patrol car, the suit alleges. The officer slammed Lowe's head, face-first, into the ground, cuffed him, then threw him onto the hood of the patrol car, Kannin said.
Depina punched Lowe in the groin and "continued his assault in the presence of Officer (Christopher) Christman at the police station by slamming Mr. Lowe's head into the counter multiple times," said Kannin in a written statement.
What a timely lawsuit.
