Man Slashed At Lake Union Club

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee June 10, 2010

A dispute over a girl at a Lake Union nightclub ended in bloodshed after a suspect armed with a knife attacked another man on the club's dance floor.

At around 2:00am on June 5th, a man—who had his right hand wrapped in a bloody towel—approached an officer working outside the club in the 1200 block of Westlake Ave at about 2:00am and said he'd been attacked.

The victim told police he'd been dancing with a woman inside the club when another man—described in the report as a black male, approximately 5'07" bald, in his 20's wearing a blue t-shirt and baggy black pants—walked up to him and "became confrontational."

The suspect asked the man "What are you doing dancing with this girl?" and then shoved the victim.

The report says the suspect then pulled out a folding knife and slashed the victim. According to the gross details in the report, "the knife sliced into [the victim's] right index finger slicing away about an inch of skin on the tip of his finger." The suspect then ran off.

The victim then left the club and contacted the police officer, who called medics to the scene.

Medics bandaged the man's hand, but the report says he "refused further treatment." It's not clear how serious his wound was from the report.

The club isn't named in the report, but we'll try to find out where this happened and update later today.
