CHS: New Video Means Another Hearing in Vita Owner DUI Case

By jseattle June 10, 2010

In one of the higher profile criminal proceedings the Hill has seen in some time, the lawyer for Caffe Vita and Via Tribulani owner Mike McConnell appeared in a Seattle courtroom this morning for a pre-trial hearing. Attorney Scott Wonder is defending McConnell against charges of assault, DUI, and hit and run after he allegedly crashed into, and then attacked, another motorist near Seattle University in late March. McConnell, who did not attend Thursday morning's hearing, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has said he 'made some poor choices' but refutes the Seattle Police Department's account of his actions. You can view the SPD report on the incident here.

In Thursday's pre-trial hearing, Wonder requested additional time to examine new video before it is entered into evidence. The continuance was granted and a new pre-trial hearing has been set for mid-July.
