Zero Waste, Forest Restoration, and an Open Ethics Seat

Today's calendar:

The 37th District Democrats, represented by Eric Pettigrew and Sharon Tomiko-Santos and Adam Kline in the Senate, will hold its general membership meeting and nominating convention tonight.

Tonight, 7:30pm,  downstairs at the Rainier Valley Cultural Center, 3515 S Alaska St, Seattle. Free.

Tomorrow's calendar:

Tomorrow afternoon, the city council's utilities and neighborhoods committee will get a briefing from Seattle Public Utilities about its progress on the Zero Waste Initiative, adopted back in 2007.

Tomorrow, 2 pm, City Council chambers, 600 Fourth Ave., Second floor. Free.


The Nature Consortium is holding a forest-restoration work party in the West Duwamish Greenbelt in West Seattle.

Tomorrow, 10 am to 2 pm. RSVP for location. Free.

The South Park Neighborhoods Association has a packed agenda tomorrow night, including an appearance by City Council member Sally Bagshaw.

Urban Land Army, a West Seattle-based gardening and food-justice group, is offering free half-hour garden consultations to people who want to get started gardening or improve their gardening skills.
