Tater Tossers Slash Tires, Attempt Potato Attack
A feud stewing in Rainier Valley nearly boiled over May 6 when one side attempted a French-fry drive-by, throwing a whole potato at their targets from an SUV.
Police were called to an area near Rainier Pl. S. and Rainier Ave where two victims were reporting some damage to their car, according to the police report. The victims said that three people they knew and had a feud with had slashed the two passenger-side tires on their 1996 Chrysler Concord.
The three suspects, driving a 2004 Honda CRV, had then returned to where the victims and their car were and threw a potato at them, the victims told the officer. The potato missed everyone. The officer noted the presence of a potato in the middle of the street.
While the officer was conducting the interview, the suspects' SUV rolled by again. The officer pulled the car over, and the driver and passenger admitted involvement in both incidents. The driver also admitted that she keyed the word "SLUT" into the victim's vehicle during a separate incident. The third suspect was contacted later at his home and also admitted involvement. All suspects were released.
