Today's calendar:

1. Mayor Mike McGinn's Walk Bike Ride initiative is having a public forum on health, equity and transportation tonight, hosted by the Seattle Channel's C.R. Douglas.

Tonight, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Yesler Community Center, 917 E. Yesler Way.



2. The city council's housing and human services committee will get briefings on prostituted youth, services for chronically homeless people, and outreach and engagement to the homeless.

3. The Seattle Office of Film and Music hosts its monthly happy hour and networking event at Spitfire in Belltown.

Tonight, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Spitfire, 2219 Fourth Ave. Free. Happy-hour drink and food specials available.

Tomorrow's calendar:1. Former Obama Administration green-jobs guru Van Jones is speaking about green jobs and local climate leadership at City Hall tomorrow.

2. Alleycat Acres
, a recently formed urban farming collective, is holding a fundraiser on Thursday featuring DJs, door prizes, drinks, and food to help them expand their urban farming empire in Seattle. PubliCola cosponsors.

Thursday, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Grey Gallery and Lounge, 1512 11th Ave. Suggested donation: $5 to $25.


3.
The Seattle parks board will get a briefing from parks staff on the parks department's community gardens, its tree-maintenance and removal policies, and its specialized programs, which may be targeted for budget cuts.
