Today's calendar:

This evening, King County will hold a countywide community forum on "Public Trust: Customer Service and Public Engagement," focusing on how the county interacts with its citizens.

Tonight, 6:00 pm, Harbor Steps, 1221 First Avenue. Free.

This afternoon, the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects hosts a discussion, featuring Seattle Department of Planning and Development director Diane Sugimura and former Bellevue planning director Matt Terry, about the opportunities and challenges around building large-scale projects during a recession.

Today, 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, AIA Seattle, 1911 First Avenue. Free.

The city council's Committee on the Built Environment is having a special meeting to discuss public schools, residential growth, and how the city and Seattle school system can collaborate on planning for growth in the future.

Tomorrow's calendar:

The mayors of four Eastside cities will participate in a panel discussion about issues facing their cities tomorrow, hosted by the Bellevue Downtown Association.

Seattle food writers host a discussion about using social media tomorrow evening, featuring appetizers from Seattle Art Museum's TASTE restaurant.
