Today's calendar:

The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) hosts a Seattle history trivia night at Murphy's Irish pub in Wallingford.

Tonight, 8:30 pm, Murphy's, 1928 N. 45th St.



This afternoon, the city council’s utilities and neighborhoods committee will get a briefing from Seattle Public Utilities about its progress on the Zero Waste Initiative, adopted back in 2007.

Today, 2 pm, City Council chambers, 600 Fourth Ave., Second floor. Free.


The South Park Neighborhoods Association has a packed agenda tonight, including an appearance by City Council member Sally Bagshaw.

Tonight, 7 pm, 8201 10th Ave. S. #2. Free.

Tomorrow's calendar:

Tomorrow is the last day to vote for your favorite historic place(s) in the Partners in Preservation contest, which will award $1 million in historic preservation grants. On the Seattle list: Town Hall (pictured below), King Street Station, the 5th Avenue Theatre, and more.



The city council's Committee on the Built Environment will consider legislation establishing a new rental housing inspection system, which we've written about here and here.
