Police Corner Bank Robbery Suspects in Georgetown

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee May 13, 2010

Seattle police have arrested two bank robbery suspects in Georgetown following a heist at a University District bank earlier today.

Around noon, a male suspect walked into a bank at NE 45th and 12th Ave NE and passed a teller a note, demanding money.

The suspect then fled the scene in a van with another man. Police followed the van—which was sporting a disabled plate—to South Seatle, and pulled the vehicle over near E Marginal Way S and Flora Ave S.

One of the suspects ran from the van and unsuccessfully tried to hide next to a home in the area.

By 12:25, police had both men in custody.
