Man Stomped By Police Releases Statement

The man who was stomped by two police officers in a racially-charged incident near a Lake Union night club last month has issued a statement about the incident.

In a statement on behalf of Martin Monetti, the firm, Schroeter, Goldmark & Bender, described the incident on April 17 as "an unprovoked and illegal physical assault by two Seattle officers, one of whom used racist language."


Monetti also criticized the other police officers who were there, accusing them of observing but doing "nothing to stop it."It is the first statement from Monetti, a graduate of Seattle's Franklin High School, since the video was aired last Thursday."
