Two men who were knocking on doors in Rainier Valley attempted to rob a grandmother when she answered her door. The attempted robbery occurred around noon May 11 near 45th Ave S and S Myrtle St.

The woman's grandson, who talked to the police for his grandma because she only speaks Vietnamese, told police that she answered her door after hearing someone knocking. When she opened the door, two unknown men were there and started to talk to her.

One of them grabbed the necklace she was wearing and ripped it off her neck. The woman fell forward into the wall by the door. The necklace also fell to the ground and the two men ran off. They did not steal any property. She declined medical attention. 

Neighbors said they had seen two men knocking on doors in the neighborhood. The police report has suspect descriptions:

"The first male was described as a black male, 6'00", thin build, 20 years of age, dark complexion, short hair, and a round face. He was wearing a red t-shirt and faded blue jeans. This was the male that grabbed the necklace.

The second male was described as a black male, 5'8", thin build, 20 years of age, dark complexion and short hair. He was wearing a black long sleeve t-shirt."

No suspects were located.
