Do You Care About the Police Chief Search Yet?

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee May 31, 2010

No? Well, I understand. It's a weird, rabbithole-y issue that you think probably doesn't affect you, but it does.

SPD Chief candidates John Diaz, Rick Braziel, and Ron Davis are getting together this week to get drunk tasered  grilled on what they'd do to make Seattle's police department extra super special.

ST:

The event starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Rainier Room at Seattle Center. It will be moderated by Charles Rolland, co-chairman of the search committee that selected the finalists, according to a news release from Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn's office.

Audience members will be invited to submit questions; translators will be available.

If you can't go, you can watch the forum on the internets at www.seattle.gov/mayor

SO DO IT!

I know this seems like a really mundane issue, but I promise you it's not. If you've got questions about this process, why this is important, or who the hell these guys are, leave 'em in the comments below and I'll see if I can't answer 'em.
