The Seattle police detective who shot a Hells Angel in a Sturgis, South Dakota bar is fighting back.

KIRO 7 Investigative Reporter Amy Clancy has learned that Detective Ron Smith has filed a lawsuit against the Seattle Police Department and the city of Seattle.

Smith and his attorney said that it didn't have to come to a lawsuit, but they claim Smith's reputation has been harmed, that his career has suffered and that this is the only way to set the record straight.
