Robbery + Pistol-Whipping = Hottt New Crime Trend
About an hour after a 20-year-old man was pistol-whipped and robbed in the Central District last night, police received a report of a similar incident in Beacon Hill.
According to Seattle Police Department spokesman Mark Jamieson, officers responded to 19th ave S and S Hanford St at about 1:30am for another armed robbery call.
The victims told police they had just parked their car in an alley behind their home when two black males in their 20s—one wearing a red shirt, one in a black jacket—walked up to them, pulled out a pistol and demanded money.
After the victims handed over their cash, the suspect with the gun pistol-whipped one of the victims and then fled. Officers were unable to locate the suspects.
Police don't appear to believe the Beacon Hill and Central District robberies are related. In the Central District incident—which happened around 12:30am at 17th and Spring—both suspects were armed and were wearing different clothing.
