Rihanna Kicking Off North American Tour in Auburn.

By Jonathan Cunningham April 5, 2010

I just got a press release today that pop star Rihanna is set for a 25-city North American tour starting this summer. Interestingly enough, she's kicking off the tour here in Auburn at the White River Amphitheater on July 2nd. It's the first major U.S. tour she's done since infamously being involved in a domestic violence case with her then boyfriend Chris Brown. It's good to know that she's getting back on the road again, moving forward with her life, and pushing her latest album, Rater R.

I'm not really a fan of her new song, "Rude Boy," or its video which just feels like a rip off from something M.I.A. would have done two years ago. Still, she's a good performer live, and when tickets go on sale April 10th, they'll most likely go fast. I'm actually surprised that she's got the annoyingly popular Nikki Minaj and Ke$ha opening up for her. Neither have a ton of talent in my opinion, but the Clear Channel radio stations seem to love all three of these ladies right now.
