How Do You Not Notice That You're Missing 1,400 Bullets?

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee April 15, 2010

Seattle police were called to a boarding house in North Seattle last week after a tenant reported that someone had stolen a shit-ton of ammunition out of his room.

A police report says officers went to a home at 140th and Sunnyside on April 8th and spoke with the tenant, who told officers he believes someone entered his room sometime between February and April and stole 1,400 rounds of .223 ammo, 8 magazines, and 50 rounds of various calibers. The report says the ammo is worth about $2,000, and notes that electronics and firearms in the man's bedroom were not taken during the burglary.

The man told police he doesn't believe his two current housemates would have stolen the ammunition, but he gave officers the name of a former tenant who, according to the victim, would often tell tales of his time as a burglar.
