The Morning Blotter: Woman Assaulted Over $1 at Snoop Dogg Concert
A woman was beaten at a Snoop Dogg concert earlier this month after she fought with another club-goer over a dollar bill thrown from the stage, a police report says.
The woman was on the dance floor at the Showbox SoDo at about 11:00pm on March 7th when someone on stage starting throwing money into the crowd. "Both victims started reaching for the money and at some point got ahold of a bill that was floating toward the ground," Officer Jill Bassett wrote in her report.
Neither the victm nor the suspect were willing to drop the dollar (like it's hot!) and a struggle ensued. The report says the suspect grabbed the woman's arm, and the woman told him to let go and that he could have the dollar.
The suspect let go of her arm and then punched her in the nose three times.
A melee ensued inside of the packed club—the report says punches were thrown and hair was pulled—and Showbox security had to jump in to break it up.
Security pulled the suspect and his girlfriend out of the club and waited with the victims until police showed up.
The report says the suspect denied hitting the woman, but security told the man that he and his girlfriend were not allowed back in to the show. "This incensed the group (especially [the suspect]) and they began yelling obscenities at the police," the report says.
The suspects then left the scene. The victim asked for an ice pack and went back into the show.
