A Yellow Cab taxi driver allegedly ran down a woman suffering from a "mobility issue" after the two argued about a fare last week, a police report says.

According to the report, the victim took the cab from work to her South Seattle home around 7 p.m. on March 16. But when it came time to pay, she noticed that it cost $2 more to take the cab home than it cost to make the trip to work earlier that day.

Once she paid with her card, the woman became suspicious about information missing from her receipt, which only included her name and the amount paid, and no bank processing information. When she requested a receipt that included the approval authorization code, the driver allegedly became hostile, saying she did not need this information and demanding she tell him why she wanted it.

After paying, the woman got out of the car and moved toward her apartment building gate. The driver allegedly pulled his cab forward a bit, then reversed into her while yelling at her from inside the car. The report says the man hit her with the taxi's rear bumper, then drove off.

The woman called Yellow Cab, then the police. After hearing her story, the officer tried to talk with the driver, but he was evasive and uncooperative. First he said he did not speak English well enough to talk to them. Once the police told him that they knew he could speak English well enough—after contacting his employer—he said he could not meet with the officer because he did not know the area.  The officer noted that, not only is he a taxi driver, but his home address was in South Seattle, near the officer's location.

The officer eventually gave up waiting for the man and filed the report. The report does not say whether the officer was ever able to interview the driver, and no arrests were noted.
