The Morning Blotter: Another Case of Aggressive Panhandling or: When Will the Madness End?
It looks like those aggressive panhandlers aren't just confining themselves to downtown anymore (Dun-dun-dunnnn!!!).
According to the report, a woman was walking near the Seattle University campus on 10th Ave and E Jefferson St at about 2:00a.m. on March 13th, when a 27-year-old man approached her and asked for money. The report says when the woman tried to walk away, the man grabbed her arm and repeated his request.
The woman broke free and walked away, but the man followed her until she contacted campus security.
Police showed up and arrested the man for assault and pedestrian interference, and found marijuana in the man's backpack. Police booked him into the King County Jail.
Court records appear to indicate the man has pleaded not guilty to assault and interference charges.
