Man Harassed, Assaulted Outside of Neighbours Nightclub

Neigbours seems to be attracting the wrong crowd these days. Last week, a man told police he was harassed and choked in an alley outside the club.

Police received a report of the assault at about 3:30 a.m. on Feb 27. The man told police he was standing in the alley on the north side of Neighbours—on Broadway and Pike—talking to a friend when three men approached him. The police report for the incident says the suspect, an Asian male, told the victim "your nipples are showing."

The victim told the man to "fuck off," and the suspect challenged the victim to "say that a little louder."

The report says the man then began harassing the victim, who tried to walk away.

The confrontation escalated when the suspect grabbed the victim's face. The victim bit down on the man's hand until he "felt a crunch," the report says.

The suspect then told the victim "I'll fucking choke you, I've done this before" and grabbed the victim by the neck.

The victim's friend screamed and the suspect ran off. Several members of Neighbours' security team chased the man but were unable to catch him.

The victim sustained a cut below his eye and injuries to his neck but was not taken to a hospital.

Club staff told police they are familiar with the suspect.
