Man Convicted In Wah-Mee Massacre Could Be Released From Prison Soon
The PI.Com has the details:
Almost 27 years to the day since the worst mass killing in Seattle's history, a state parole board has moved one of three men responsible for the massacre one step closer to freedom.
Unlike his two co-defendants in the notorious Wah Mee massacre, Tony Ng was not sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in the Feb. 19, 1983 murder of 13 people at the International District gambling club. Instead, Ng was convicted of 13 counts of first-degree robbery and a single count of assault; he shot the one victim of the attack to survive the brutal ordeal.
Imprisoned under an antiquated parole system since replaced with definitive sentences, Ng was sentenced to seven prison terms of five years to life. A state parole board late last week ruled that Ng had completed his sixth term, making him eligible for release as early as 2014.
