As the man was walking through an alley on his way to a friend's house, one of the teens jumped on his back, tried to put him in a head lock, and demanded he hand over his iPhone.
The victim was close enough to his friend's apartment that he was able to call to him for help. When the victim's friend came outside, the teen kicked the victim in the knee and fled.
After victim went into his friend's apartment, the report says one of the teens returned to the scene and shouted for the victim to come out of the apartment because "he wanted to talk to him." The victim and his friend locked the apartment door and called 911.
Police searched the area but were unable to find the teens. The victim told officers he believed the three boys got on his bus near Franklin High School.
